I was drawn to experience live model sketching sessions to observe the human form and to feel a connection with previous generations of artists. I took a break from oil-based ink printing and began experimenting with non-toxic materials. So began my “ReModeling” series of figure studies on my architect husband’s leftover blueprint paper. I enjoyed marking up each sheet with pencil, charcoal, pastel, chalk, tempera and postage stamps. All poses were composed on one sheet in one drawing session. The results reveal an ecological and crafty collaboration: a figurative marriage of art and architecture with respect for the 3Rs reduce, reuse, recycle.
